APATITE

Also know as "Asparagus Stone", Apatite is a soft heat sensitive gem so both cutting and wearing must be done carefully.  Apatite is dichroic and colors comes in a wide range of bright colors including  green, sea-green, yellow, purple, blue, and colorless with many hues in between.  (Yellow is the most common.)

This is some very unique Apatite from Umba Tanzania. The stones are eye clean ranging from 3-6cts in size and have the interesting  property of being somewhat color changing!
In natural or fluorescent light this Apatite is a bright Peridot to minty green,
but under incandescant light it is Yellow/greenish-Yellow.
