ALEXANDRITE (Color Change Chrysoberyl)
Alexandrite is one of the rarest of all gems. Rough material is almost never available for faceting, so we are very pleased to offer the pieces below.
Please read: We offer two types of material from Tanzania:
One is a very clean (pretty much 10X clean) material from Tunduru. These pieces have a nice green to lemony green color in natural or fluorescent lighting, but under incandescent lighting the color only changes to a slightly pinkish brownish yellowish. The difference between the nice green to the "other" color is noticeable, but the "other" color is just not that impressive by itself.
The other material is "gemmy" but very included or cab grade. However it has a very vivid blue-green color in natural or fluorescent lighting, and changes to a lighter purple/purplish-Red under incandescent lighting. This is the more typical distinct "green-red/purple" Alex color change most people think of.
No need to point out the irony that either the material is clean facet grade with a "C" grade color change or is very included with an excellent color change !
LIST: (CLiCK to see picture of the group; Stones are in order from top left to top right then bottom left to bottom right)

CHRYSOBERYL - Non color change "normal" material (Tanzania)
A beautiful gem material with a hardness of 8.5 (close to sapphire and excellent for all jewelry!). We have been collecting this material for some years, but have never offered much of it for sale. You do not see this material for sale very often even though Chrysoberyl is one of the more "perfect" materials for faceting fine gems. This is your chance to pick up a parcel of this high-grade beautiful color material. All stones appear eye-clean and great at 10X as well (very clean).
We are please to be able to offer the fine parcels below at the discounted prices:
Sorry, currently out of stock...
