GARNET- Hessonite (Orange/Yellow Grossular)

This page contains our Hessonite Garnet rough from the Uvarovite subgroup (Andradite, Demantoid, Tsavorite, Grossular).  Hessonite  is actually the name  for the yellow, peach, and orange color Grossular Garnets.  Due to the high refractive index and the lightly saturated colors, gems cut from this material are outstanding.

The particular Hessonite we offer will cut very bright Orange or reddish-Orange gems. These water-worn alluvial stones almost always have a few bubbles in them, but  the final results are nice anyway ! (they will for the most part cut eye-clean or nearly so, and a few of the more included ones can cut "glowing" gems which is a nice effect).  Great el-cheapo substitute for the much more expensive Spessartite.
