Sapphire is one of the best gems for jewelry as it is hard, durable, and comes in all the colors of the rainbow (except red Corundum, which is called Ruby). Our Sapphire offerings are from around the world, and special large hand selected pieces are available from our miners in Australia and Tanzania. In some cases the rough has been heat treated to permanently enhance to stone's natural color. If this is the case we note this in the rough's description. Sapphires are dichroic and require proper orientation in cutting to show the desired color.
A limited amout of rare Color Change Sapphire is also available from time to time that will cut gems of significant value.
