Spinel comes in all colors of the rainbow and our Tanzanian material ranges from clear, blue, teal, purple, lilac, mauve, peach, and pink.  Many also demonstrate a color shift/change in different lighting.  This material will cut clean, gorgeous gems that look like Sapphires.  Spinel has very similar physical and chemical properties to Corundum, is rarer, yet costs less than comparable Corundum rough.
The Red Spinels are very difficult to obtain, but even so, still cost much less than Ruby.  We have had only limited success in getting the red material form our miners in Tanzania, but it is well worth the price when we do. They will cut gems of significant value.

We are pleased to offer the select Spinels below.  Spinel prices have increased dramatically during late 2001-2002, but are still better priced than comparable Sapphire.  Each piece is pictured and described for your convenience and informed choice, and are divided below in sections by color etc.

These Spinels are smaller in size, but have excellect color saturation that should facet some nice brighter color gems.  The clarity is also excellent.  It has become increasingly difficult to get these brighter stones and this is reflected in the pricing.  On the positive side, this material is still significatly cheaper than similar size/color Sapphire.
