GARNET-TSAVORITE
Tsavorite is a green Grossular garnet  from the Ugrandite subgroup, in which the vivid green color is caused mainly by Vanadium impurities.  Chromium may also be present in these garnets.  The high refractive index and the wonderful green color make gems cut from this material truly outstanding.  Tsavorite gems put most emeralds to shame!  Tsavorite is best known as a Kenyan gem (it is named after Tsavo National Park in Kenya where it was discovered), but is also found in deposits that  run through Tanzania as well.

This excellent material is very hard to obtain these days, so we are pleased to be able to offer the special select pieces below.
