TOURMALINE
Tourmaline is a real favorite as it comes in so many colors and multi-colors and is so excellent for jewelry!  Tourmaline is a bit heat sensitive, so care must be taken when dopping the stone.  Otherwise no major problems, especially with our well shaped, eye-clean selections.  The main species of facetable Tourmaline are:
Dravite :
cola brown and reddish or greenish colors
Elbaite :
Verdelite (green), Indicolite (blue), Rubelite (red,pink)
Tsilaisite:
Intense yellow (very rare, high Mn content)

This Rubelite Tourmaline from Nigeria is very clean at 10X and has great pink, magenta, purple and reddish colors!  The C-axis on these fine large pieces are also open and bright - the C-axis can be cut with wonderful color on some pieces (decisions, decisions...)  These are select color & clarity pieces that will facet some outstanding gems with great recovery.  These also show somewhat of a color shift from a more vivid purplish color in natural/fluorescent light to more redishi-pinkish color under incandescent lighting.  NOT treated/heated.
